Release - Hands on horsemanship

The Jondaryan Expo has become firmly established on the annual
circuit of both Heavy Horse events and Carriage Driving events,
because of its blend of heavy horse working competitions and light
harness classes, emphasising the "draught" nature of both,
and its strong emphasis on teams and rural pursuits.
This is an event not to be missed – with over 100 working
horses gathering at the historic site to test their skills, and
the ability of their handlers, in the following range of classes:
- a "Real Log-Snigging" event for singles and pairs
that seeks to re-create real conditions
- Led-in classes for stud Percheron, Clydesdale and Australian
Draught horses
- Classes for pairs of heavy horses in harness
- Novelty "Mum & Dad Ploughing" events
- Ladies Ploughing class - no dad’s allowed to help!
- Special classes for young handlers - these classes have become
some of the most popular of the weekend in the past
- a hobby-horse obstacle course class for the little ones!
- Show Driving
- Ploughing – in real paddock conditions
- Log Snigging
- Slide Obstacles
- Turnout classes
- And numerous working classes for horses and ponies in harness

The weekend has much more to offer than just horses though - there
is a Bush Dance on Saturday Night in the old Woolshed itself, Arts
and Crafts Stalls with a horse-related items; an opportunity to
buy and sell surplus harness items, raffles with good prizes, and
all the normal activities of the Jondaryan Woolshed such as blacksmithing,
shearing, sheepdogs, and that great country hospitality, charm and
cooking! Don’t miss it.
Come, and tell your friends and acquaintances to visit, as it is
a great spectator event, featuring spectacular demonstrations of
the working abilities of horses of all sizes, in the ideal venue,
provding an atmosphere and authenticity not available anywhere else
in Australia.
There will also be plenty of Food, Arts and Crafts, and Souvenirs
on sale.
