Following recent weather events, the Jondaryan Woolshed will be temporarily closing to undertake necessary repairs and upgrades across the complex.
Jondaryan Woolshed General Manager, Rebecca Pope says the decision to temporarily close has not been made lightly and follows a period of reviews and site assessments.
“We are working in partnership with Toowoomba Regional Council to undertake necessary repairs and upgrades. Work will ensure our grounds remain safe and support the ongoing maintenance and conservation of historical assets,” said Ms Pope.
The decision was passed down from the Jondaryan Woolshed Board with the view the closure will be for three months.
“While our accommodation, food outlets and museum will remain closed, existing function bookings and supervised tour groups will be honoured. Supervised visits of the historic Woolshed will also be available by appointment.”
The Jondaryan Woolshed has cancelled a number of upcoming events, including the Easter Family Fun Weekend and has been attempting to contact those people they believe may be impacted by the closure.
“If you believe you may be impacted by the temporary closure and our team has not been in contact, please call (07) 4692 2229.”
“We would like to thank our staff, volunteers and supporters for their patience and understanding over past weeks and moving forward.”
More information about the scope of repairs and upgrades, as-well-as updates will be shared in the coming weeks and months.
